Health Insurance
Health Insurance is a mandatory condition of enrollment for all UCLA registered students. As such, the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) is a comprehensive medical insurance program offered to UCLA students. All registered students are automatically enrolled in UC SHIP, but if you have comparable insurance and you do not want to keep UC SHIP as dual coverage, you must submit a request to waive enrollment by the specified deadline dates

AttentionAcademic HealthPlans (AHP) is the new plan administrator for UC SHIP that processes all enrollments beginning winter quarter/spring semester.  Please contact AHP at for the following items:
  • To enroll yourself into non-registered/voluntary enrollment
  • To enroll your dependent(s) into UC SHIP.  Depedents are defined as spouse, same sex domestic partner or children.  Additional information on eligibility can be found here
  • To check the status of your enrollment(s) into UC SHIP
Please visit the "Dependent Care" tab for enrollment forms and deadline dates, how to connect with AHP and additional information regarding dependent/non-registered enrollment.

  • SEMESTER STUDENTS: The waiver application is no longer available for the 2018-2019 academic year.  Please check back for waiver dates for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year.
