I am turning or recently turned 26. How can I enroll in UC SHIP?
If you know you are turning 26 before a new term starts, e.g. the second week before winter quarter ends, you may cancel your UC SHIP waiver for the following spring quarter between March 1and March 20, 2014, or whichever deadline period applies at the time of your decision.
If you are turning 26 mid-term, you will need to provide the Student Health Insurance Office the official copy of your letter of terminated coverage from your health insurance plan. This is standard procedure in order for the office to enroll you into UC SHIP the day your letter is received. You will be billed the full UC SHIP fee which cannot be prorated. If you enroll in the spring term, it includes summer coverage at no additional cost.
